Research is a good thing. It makes your novels more accurate, your art better, and helps you learn.
Not doing it means you might insult the Arab or Chilean artists by incorrectly representing their population as a completely different one because you didn't read about them; offending Muslims by misrepresenting them because you didn't bother to learn about their religion and cultures, or name your character a word that means "whore" in Mandarin because you didn't even try to use a little thing I like to call Google Internet Search. It's really not that hard. Hell, most browsers come with a web search built into the toolbar. RESEARCH. Try it sometime. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.
