Everyone has tastes. Some people like anime, just cause you don't like it doesn't make it shit. Some people like comic books, just cause you dislike them doesn't make it worthless. Just because some people like homosexual pairings and you don't doesn't mean you should senselessly bash them every chance you get. And likewise, just because someone says they don't like anime, or comics, or BL and you do doesn't mean you should be mean to them because they disagree with you. Try and be more openminded. Just a little. I promise it won't hurt. Feel free to use this in your journal or shoutbox or wherever you like provided you have the proper subscription to be using such things. The odds of anyone reading a description this long are slim but...I'll put it in anyways You are allowed to dislike and say you dislike things. Just some people take it a little far and go out of their way to insult it, or make fun of people who like it. That's just mean for people to do. I remember reading a well known artist on this site who I had respected say (I paraphrase) "I hate Yaoi - it's so stupid. I make fun of it whenever I can, I can't believe people like it. Those people are insane." What's the point of going out of your way to make fun of something just to hurt others? Or how about years back when another talented artist submitted a beautiful painting that happened to have an ipod? She got so many comments saying "iPods are stupid! I can't believe you like Apple! That's stupid!" when whether or not it was an iPod or they liked them was completely irrelevant to the image. That's just not cool. There's a lot of things I don't like, but I wouldn't rub it in people's faces cause THEY get joy out of it... IMHO, the kind of people who disagree with a stamp like this, especially after reading the description, are probably the exact people this stamp it targeting. I'm not saying you can't have an opinion. Or that you can't say it. What I am saying is you shouldn't be a moron and BE EXTREMELY RUDE ABOUT IT. |
